The company AlterSail started operating in 2007 and it is a travel agency that offers sailing tours. Its fleet includes several sailing boats of different sizes and categories, while it offers excursions in different directions, and duration of either a few hours or a day. The available excursions are organized in a way to cover different tastes: families, groups, corporate events.

I am passionate about running and building communities and from these 2 things, Cretan Wild was born.  My goal is to get as many people out as possible in nature and explore the beauty of this island that I love so much.  

At Cretan Wild we aim to provide a safe and fun environment to explore this island, whether its through running, hiking, biking or any other outdoor activity.  We want to share our love for the island and all it encompasses from the people, the culture, the food and of course the stunning landscapes.

The trails we share with you range from the family friendly to the more adventurous of spirit and will take you from the sea to the highest mountains, through the gorges and quaint villages.

Eco Diving Center is located in a modern and specially designed space in the area of Ammoudara in Heraklion and consists of experienced and trained staff. Its priority is the safety of its customers and the respect for the environment. The company maintains partnerships with global organizations (Scuba Schools International, Divers Alert Network, International Safety Equipment Association) related to diving and offers the highest level of learning, safety, and ecological diving experience. Moreover, the Eco Diving Center, in collaboration with the iSea, offers underwater cleaning, shore cleaning, workshops on ecological diving or marine ecology by specialized scientific staff related to marine science. Also, one day a month is dedicated to the environment and is framed by special actions. Through the way the business operates, maritime tourism on the island is strengthened, as part of ecotourism that includes nature activities.

With our bikes, we follow the footsteps of a young woman and a shepherd who lived a century ago in this beautiful village of Pediada valley. Through unknown stories, we travel back in time and learn the wise agricultural and social practices the old Cretans used while living in harmony with the environment. We meet the kind and smiling villagers, wander through picturesque alleys and enjoy authentic daily routines. During our afternoon Soulouksina route we visit old churches, a monastery and nearby villages calming body and mind amid uphills and downhills of the Cretan landscape. We end up in a traditional “kafeneio” where we all together prepare a light meal before sunset. Our route covers approximately 27 kilometers in the heart of the Pediada province and is easy for cyclists of all levels, thanks to the professional equipment provided with the specialized Como electric bike.

Built with our own hands, this traditional stone-built Shepherd Shelter (Mitato) is located at 848m at a slope of the renowned Psiloritis mount. In this welcoming Shepherd Shelter, we are ready to share with you our passion for the distinct Cretan traditions and lifestyle. The visit to the Shepherd’s Shelter offers a life-time experience to every visitor. Depending on the season, you have the unique opportunity to view the sheep milking, join the cheese-making, experience the sheep-shearing or participate in the fiesta of raki distillation. Through our voluntary programs we organize every year in collaboration with Associations, Local Governments, Universities, Companies [Within the context of social responsibility] contributing to the rescue of monuments of the history of our country. We work with organizations to design a network of hiking trails, maintain and clean them, and promote them through meaningful actions.
