Σκίνακας-Βάραθρο Σκίνακα

On the route from Petradolakia to the summit of Skinakas, there is one of the most impressive and easily accessible chasms on Mount Psiloritis. The small path, which traverses dolomites and limestones of the Tripolis zone in a landscape that is almost desert-like, leads to a shallow stream and then to the entrance of the chasm.

This chasm is notable not only for its geological features but also for its accessibility, making it a popular destination for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The path provides a unique opportunity to observe the distinct geological formations of the area, characterized by the stark contrast between the dolomites and limestones, as well as the relatively barren terrain. The shallow stream encountered along the way adds to the diversity of the landscape, offering a glimpse into the hydrological processes at play in this mountainous region.
