Beaches Phylaki & Vritomartis

Slightly to the east of the village is Britomartis beach: much frequented by nudists.

Vritomartis

This takes its name from an ancient goddess, worshipped in this region: the Minoan goddess of hunting and the mountains. Secluded, with pebbles and stones, it is open to the south winds. It is not organized, but nonetheless is favoured highly by nudists – indeed there is a hotel dedicated to them.

Phylaki

Right next door is the beach Phylaki (the Prison), also popular with the nudists: they enjoy here the services of a taverna that caters almost exclusively to those with this philosophy of life.
