The beach lies on the Gulf of Atherinolakkos. It has pale-coloured small pebbles and blue-green crystalline waters. Not organized, it is thus suited to calm and relaxation and to the pursuit of nudism too!
The most direct route to reach this quiet and secluded beach, starting from Ierapetra, is to follow the road east and turn on to the road for Goudouras and the power-station of Atherinolakkos. At the crossroads you will encounter after a few more kilometers, do NOT follow the road to the power-plant, but continue going east, until after another 3 km you reach the beach.
If, however, you begin at Siteia, follow the main road that goes to Ierapetra .. at the village of Epano Episkopi, turn left, taking the road to Aghios Spyridon and Ziros .. go on to Aghia Triadha. At this village, there is a dirt-road that leads to Livari beach.
The next beach is a little to the north .. Aghia Irini.
