Kalochoriano gorge

The gorge of Kalo Chorio is rather small, yet quite remarkable. It is 4 kilometres long and the elevation difference between the entrance and the outlet is 260 metres.

It begins at the village of Kalo Chorio and passes through an area in between two precipitous elevations, where spiny broom (Calycotome villosa), deciduous oaks (Quercus coccifera) and tree spurge (Euphorbia dendroides) dominate the scenery. A large number of reptiles and rodents breed in the gorge.
