On Wednesday, June 2, 2021, the research on the needs of rural tourism businesses was presented to the members of e-paithros cluster.
Due to the conditions and restrictions of COVID-19, the presentation was held online by the scientific director of the research, Mrs. Georgia Zouni, PhD Tourism Marketing at the University of Piraeus.
The survey involved 511 companies from the following categories:
- Rural tourism accommodation (hotels, hostels, rooms to let – apartments).
- Travel agencies dealing with rural tourism (travel agency, rental of vehicles / yachts, tourist buses, etc.).
- Alternative forms of tourism (sports tourism, maritime tourism, agritourism).
- Processing-standardization of local products.
- Trade of tourist items (souvenirs, other tourist items).
- Cooperatives (Agritourism, Agro-Crafts, etc.).
- Trade of tourist items (souvenirs, other tourist items).
- Other rural tourism businesses
The project entitled "Partnership of Innovative Rural Tourism Actions" and distinctive title: "e-paithros", is implemented within the framework of the Action "Cooperative Innovation Formations " – 1st Call " and is financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and by National Resources in the context of the Operational Program "Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (EPANEK)" of the NSRF 2014-2020" (Project code: ΓΓ1CL-0056042).
