Almyrida is a seaside resort, located 23 km from Chania. It has two small sandy beaches separated by a small peninsula. The water is clean, calm and shallow, making it perfect for families with children. There are also facilities for water sports.
You will have the opportunity to enjoy fresh fish at the tavernas on the beach, after of course visiting the ruins of a Christian basilica excavated at the entrance of the village and admiring its wonderful mosaics.
It is also worth visiting the nearby village of Plaka with its traditional architecture and picturesque streets.
