Chrisostomos is a small touristy village with a beach; it occupied the site of ancient Lasaia, one of the largest ports serving Gortyn. Here you can find rent-rooms and tavernas. The beach fronts the village: it has small pebbles and clear water, but remains undisturbed by the strong winds that blow locally.
If in Chrysotomos, you may see the ruins of the early Christian church of Aghios Ioannis Chrysostomos (St John the Golden-Tongued = Eloquent) still surviving, and whence the village derives its name.
Close by to the east of the village Chrysostomos is the beach Macha. It is not organized, small and with small pebbles and deep blue waters. Here is but a single taverna and a few rent-rooms. A cave at the east side provides the only shade here.
Continuing the journey eastwards, we arrive at Platia Peramata, beach and village.
