Beaches on Cape Sidero

Continuing the exploration of the beaches as one goes north onto Cape Sidero, the first one meets are Tentas and Aghios Isidoros.

Tentas

This beach lies on Cape Sidero, the northeasternmost promontory of Crete, a wild and rough place: it sits in a small cove around which rear tall and steep massy cliffs, in which caves have formed. From the beach you can see the rocky islet of Elasa.

Sandy, with blue clear waters, it exercises a great draw on lovers of underwater fishing and diving as it is an important fishing ground.

Its isolation also makes for good unsupervised camping.

The next beach to the north on the cape is that of Aghios Isidoros.

Aghios Isidoros

Another wild and rugged location, the sandy beach, unknown and remote, lies within a closed bay, with clear waters.

Because of its underwater resources, it is a favoured destination for divers. Because of its isolation, it is beloved of those seeking solitude and for nudists. The church of Aghios Isidoros is close by the beach.
