Located 19 km from Chania, Kalyves is a coastal tourist village: The beach in front of the village, from which it takes its name, is a quiet bay with very shallow water, sand and a few trees that offer shade.
It is ideal for families; the locals favour it. Here you will find all the necessary infrastructure, hotels, shops, banks etc.
If you find yourself here for a swim or on vacation, it is worth visiting the ancient city of Aptera (just 5 km from the village), as well as the Ottoman fortresses Intzedin and Palekastro.
