Within walking distance of Agia Pelagia and 22 km from Heraklion, in a small, enclosed cove is the beach Psaromoura. Small it may be, but plenty of people go there.
It has sand, pebbles and clear crystalline water: provided with umbrellas, sunbeds and showers, as well as a canteen for a snack and a drink. To stay, you can locate close by hotels, rentable rooms and apartments, and the tavernas nearby will provide you with tasty and enjoyable food.
To get here, follow the main north-coast road west out of Heraklion, and turn right to go to Aghia Pelagia. Before the hotel Capsis, turn left, and keep on until you get to a large hill. Leave your car here, and go on foot along the road until you reach the summit of the hill, whence stairs lead down to the beach.
Very close to Psaromoura is the seaside resort of Aghia Pelagia.
