In essence this is two isolated beaches, with crystal-clear waters, surrounded by cliffs. The southern is pebbly, whilst the northern has sand.
Both are ideal for finding peace and for swimming. Between them are some rocks, which makes for excellent underwater exploration.
To get here from Siteia, again follow the Zakros route, passing through Palaikastro. Go along a dirt-road from Angathia (a smaller settlement some kilometer east of Palaikastro). After 3 km, you get to the church of Aghios Spyridon. Leave the car here, and continue for another 2 km on foot .. to the Skinias beach.
Alternatively, take a boat. The nearest harbour is that of Kato Zakros.
