E4.02 Polyrrinia - Sfinari

An easy route with small slopes

About 200 m before Polirrinia, on the right side of the asphalt-paved road, we follow the southern side road. When we reach the old Primary school, we take the right branch of a slightly downhill road that leads to the village of Galouva (1), after 2 km.

Shortly after leaving the village, we reach a road turning left, which we ignore. We continue, passing by an old lime kiln locatedon the west bank of a small stream. Then, after crossing successively two small settlements within 1,8 km (2) we meet the main asphalt road.

After a 1.800 m walk, we pass by a small cemetery on a low hill to our left and, after having passed throughthe two small villages Vlasiana and Limpiana, we reach the village of Lousakies (3).

0,6 km after Lousakiés we reach Zachariana (4). From there on we continue westwards and after another 1,8 km (5) we reach the main road that connects Platanos and Sfinari.

From this point we can visit Platanos (at a distance of 1.000 m) or continue walking to Sfinari.

50 m from the location where the unsurfaced road meets the asphalt road which leads to Sfinari (6), there is a water spring on our left; the distance between the spring and Sfinari is 7 km. From this point, we have a view to the open sea, on our right, and to low bush-covered mountains, on our left. Down below, on our right, we see several small beaches that are difficult to access.
