At Zaros-Vorizia region there is an extensive forest complex on the south flank of Psiloritis, running from the Aghios Ioannis gorge on the east to the Vorizia gorge on the west.
The tree growth here is much the same as at Rouvas, but now the dominant species is the Calabrian pine (Pinus brutia). The region is noted for its striking geological beauty with amazing cliffs that provide extensive areas for climbing.
