Arolithos Museum of Local Art & Agricultural History

The whole complex of Arolithos is essentially an open-air museum. It was built to represent a small Cretan village, complete with houses, a church, a bakery, a blacksmith’s forge, a grain threshing floor, a raki distillery and a cafeneion, which were all constructed in the traditional Cretan architectural mode. The village is located in a beautiful natural setting.

A folklore museum is also to be found in the village, where various objects of the everyday life and economical activity of the Cretans are displayed.
